Uganda’s boxer Wasswa Amir Ssali has settled for silver at the ongoing Africa Boxing Championship in Cameroon.
Wasswa suffered defeat to South Africa’s Sogwayi Sanele in the final of that was held on Saturday, 5th August in Yaounde.
Ssali cruised to the final after powering past DR Congo’s Kitangila Idris in the Semifinal of the 57-60Kg category.
He will also bag $10000 for his silver medal while the victor Sanele will walk away with $15000.
Meanwhile, Erina Namutebi keeps Uganda’s hopes for gold at the Championship. She will battle Algeria’s Chahib Hichrak in the final tonight.
Five other Boxers who are Geko Solomon, Ukasha Matovu, Ronald Okello, Grace Nankinga and Emily Nakalema all secured bronze medals and each will return home with $5000.
