Mbarara City defender and assistant captain Karim Ramathan has signed a two year contract extension with the club.
Karim ran down his initial four year contract at the end of the previous season and subsequently attracted a strong interest from Kitara FC.
He is one of the long-serving players in the current Mbarara City squad having joined the Ankole Lions in 2020 from New Villa FC.
He has proved to be a very important player at the club and featured in 27 of the 29 league games last season.
Karim is the third player to sign a new contract with the Ankole Lions after striker Henry Kitegenyi and midfielder Francis Odongo.
Mbarara City also signed striker Latif Ssenkubuge and defender Hassan Wandega from Big League side Kataka FC.
Highly-rated Amus College midfielder Bashir Mansur also joined Mbarara City from West Nile regional league side Nebbi Central FC.
