KCCA FC cruised to maximum points with a narrow 1-0 victory over URA FC on Friday night at MTN Omondi Stadium.
Saidi Mayanja scored the all important goal for the Kasasiro boys as they secured maximum points on the opening day of the league campaign.
Early into the contest, returning Derrick Nsibambi had his brilliant header saved by URA shot stopper Derrick Ochan early in the first period before hitting the side net on the rebound.
Ochan was facing his former paymasters.
In the 29th minute, Mayanja gave the hosts the lead with the opening goal of the campaign.
Norman Namanya forced KCCA FC goalkeeper Mutwalib Mugolofa into a decent save towards the end of the first period.
In the second half, Bright Anukani came close to doubling Abdallah Mubiru coached side’s lead but his effort was saved by Ochan.
Joseph Ssemujju who came on in the second period forced KCCA FC custodian Mugolofa into a fantastic save midway into the second half.
KCCA FC held on to the first points of the new campaign and will next make a short trip to Lugazi to face off with BUL FC on 20th September.
The tax collectors on the other hand will next face Soltilo Bright Stars at Kavumba Recreation Center.
