Brian Omirambe netted a late penalty to fire Maroons FC to their maiden win of the season against Lugazi FC on Sunday at Luzira Prison grounds.
Omirambe calmly converted from the spot after Lugazi’s Muhammad Gift Lubega handled the ball in the forbidden area with two minutes left to normal regulation time.
Lubega was also sent after being booked for the second time in the match.
Maroons were winless in their opening three games and after their first win moves them to 11th position with 5 points.
Newcomers Lugazi on the other hand remain winless with three defeats and have just managed one point in four games.
The league will resume after the international break with Maroons making a short trip to NEC FC at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo on October 19 while Lugazi will host fellow newcomers Mbale Heroes.
