Democratic Republic of Congo head coach Sebastien Desabre has been nominated for coach of the year at the forthcoming CAF awards.
The former Uganda Cranes head coach led Congo to the Semifinals of the 2023 Africa of Nations earlier this year, losing to eventual winners Ivory Coast.
Desabre also guided DR Congo to the 2025 Continental showpiece with two games of the qualifying campaign to spare.
For the coach of the year gong, he will battle with Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos, Marcel Koller who guided Al Ahly to the CAF Champions League crown, Emerse Fae who led Ivory Coast to the AFCON title as well as Florent Ibenge (Al Hilal) and Kwesi Appiah (Sudan).
The CAF Awards will be held on December, 16th 2024 in Marrakech, Morocco.
