Allan Okello scored in either half as Vipers SC cruised to the top of the Uganda Premier league with a 2-1 win over Police FC on Friday at Kitende.
Okello gave the Venoms an early lead slotting home in the 9th minute for his second goal of the season.
At the stroke of halftime, Brian Obedi restored parity for the visitors with a sensational strike.
Obedi’s goal however turned into a consolation when Okello completed his brace eight minutes to regulation time.
Before Okello’s winner, Police FC goalkeeper Edward Kasibante had denied Abdul Karim Watambala and second half substitute Kenneth Kimera.
Victory takes the Venoms at the summit of the Uganda Premier league with 13 points one adrift of second placed NEC FC who play Wakiso Giants on Saturday.
Defeat ends the Cops unbeaten start to the campaign and stay on seven points they have garnered in six games.
