Crested Cranes defenders Shadia Nankya and Aisha Nantongo have been in the CAF Women’s Champions League Best XI of the tournament.
Nankya and Nantongo played an instrumental part as Egyptian champions Masar FC finished third to win the Bronze medal in the tournament that climaxed on Saturday in Morocco.
Nankya was previously named in the Best XI of the group stages after shining brightest in the games against Mamelodi Sundowns, EDO Queens and CBE.
Consequently, the former UCU Lady Cardinals and Uganda Martyrs captain was nominated for the CAF Women’s Interclub Best Player of the Year Award.
Masar beat Nigeria’s EDO Queens on penalties in the third place playoff to win the Bronze medal.
Congolese giants TP Mazembe finished as the champions after beating AS FAR 1-0 in the final.
