Express FC registered a second consecutive win over KCCA FC at MTN Omondi with a narrow 1-0 victory.
The Red Eagles beat the Kasasiro Boys 2-1 at the same venue last season.
Former KCCA FC player Emmanuel Alex Wasswa scored the all important goal for the Red Eagles to prevail to maximum points at Lugogo.
This was also the second consecutive home defeat for KCCA FC following their 1-0 loss against NEC FC.
Early into the game, Sadat Anaku had a decent opportunity to give Abdallah Mubiru coached side the lead in 9th minute but his header went wide.
In the 31st minute, Wasswa hurt his former paymasters when he struck past Mutwalib Mugolofa after being fed by Richard Basangwa.
Mustafa Mujuzi nearly leveled matters for the hosts three minutes later but his free kick strike was saved by goalkeeper Emmanuel Kalyowa.
KCCA were the dominant side in possession but couldn’t break down a resilient Express side.
Express remain unbeaten since former KCCA FC assistant coach Badru Kaddu took over as head coach from Baker Mbowa.
The Red Eagles are currently third on the Uganda Premier League table with 19 points same as KCCA FC but the latter are ahead due to a better head to head.
KCCA FC are now winless in four games and will next travel to embattled Wakiso Giants while Express FC will host URA FC.
