Ugandan striker Edrisa Lubega has joined German lower division club SpVgg Osterhofen on a two year contract.

Lubega has been a free agent since June following the end of his brief stint with FK Pribram B in Czech Republic.

His new club SpVgg Osterhofen competes in the Bezirksliga Ost which is a 7th tier in German football hierarchy.

It should be noted that Lubega has been living in Germany for some time and is married to a wife from Lower Bavaria.

“My wife and I were given a very warm welcome by those in charge. I really liked their plans and their goals for the future. I am highly motivated to achieve these together with them in order to look to the future with success again..” Lubega said after completing his transfer.

” Even during the first discussions with sports director Marco Dellnitz, I felt very comfortable and knew that this was the right decision. I am already very excited to help the team,” he added.

The former Proline striker also revealed that playing for the Uganda Cranes is his best moment in his career.

“The best experience in my professional career was undoubtedly representing my country in the national jersey and when I made the leap into European football. Every stop was special for me. But I liked it best in Austria at FAC Vienna and in the Czech Republic in Pribram.”

Lubega played 10 times for the Uganda Cranes and was part of the squad that represented Uganda at the 2016 CHAN tournament.

He played for Proline in Uganda, Floridsdorfer AC and SV Ried in Austria, Paide Linnameeskond in Estonia, FK Pribram and Portuguese side Estrela da Amadora.
