Uganda Martyrs 1-3 Makerere University
Makerere University piled more misery on Uganda Martyrs as the university side won 3-1 when both sides faced off in Women Super League at Lubaga.
Striker Sharon Namatovu scored a brace while skipper Josephine Ndagire grabbed the other to guide Makerere back to winning ways.
Namatovu capitalized on a lapse in the Uganda Martyrs defense to score in the 15th and 18th minute.
Ndagire tripled the scoreline with a close range finish following a goal mouth melee in the 45th minute.
Uganda Martyrs pulled in back through Angel Auki Kigongo two minutes into the second half but her goal was not enough to inspire a comeback.
Uganda Martyrs who missed their head coach Edward Ssozi Kasozi through suspension, once again rued the wasted chances and the unnecessary lapses in defense.
The defeat leaves Uganda Martyrs in the 9th place with seven points from nine games played while victory elevated Makerere University to 13 points in the 7th place.
Uganda Martyrs have two games in hand, one against Lady Doves at home and a trip to Olila High School in Soroti.
