Allan Okello scored the all important goal as 10 Man Vipers SC edged UPDF FC to extend their grip at the top of the Uganda Premier league table.

The Venoms finished with ten men after Derrick Ndahiro was shown a straight red card in the 77th minute of the game.

Okello gave the visitors the lead in the 15th minute for his 11th goal of the campaign.

Milton Karisa came close to doubling Vipers lead but was denied by UPDF FC goalkeeper Richard Anyama.

Paul Kiwanuka’s side threatened more in the second period but couldn’t breakdown a resilient Vipers defence.

Ndahiro was sent off for a high boot on UPDF’s Christopher Kawagu.

Vipers extended their lead at the top and are now on 31 points in 14 games. They also remain unbeaten since their match day one defeat at NEC FC.

Vipers next play Maroons FC at Kitende on Monday, 6th January.

For UPDF, they drop to 11th place with 17 points in 14 games. They next host Express FC on Monday, 6th at Bombo Military Grounds.
