Lugazi FC 1-2 BUL FC
Striker Isaac Wagoina scored a brace to guide BUL FC to a 2-1 win over Lugazi FC at Najjembe Stadium in Lugazi.
Wagoina scored a late winning goal in the added minute to seize a much needed victory in the thrilling end to end encounter.
Lugazi will rue their wasted chances notably Sam Ssemugugu’s effort that was cleared off the line by Anwar Ntege early in the first half in the 11th minute.
Wagoina gave BUL the lead in 23rd minute with a close range finish after Emmanuel Obua failed to clear Ibrahim Orit’s teasing cross.
Abdul Kalanzi equalized for Lugazi with a teasing free kick that found its way past Joel Mutakubwa in the 37th minute.
Both sides had chances in the second half but Fahad Emuran the Lugazi goalkeeper stood up to thwart BUL’s efforts while Lugazi desperately sought for a winner that never came.
Wagoina eventually won all three points for BUL with a tap in from Najib Fesali’s header following Jeromy Kirya’s free kick in the second minute of the added three.
The win elevated BUL from the 12th place up to the 7th minute on 19 points from the 14 games played.
Lugazi who remained winless in the last seven games are 13th with 13 points garnered from 14 games.
Lugazi will visit Soltilo Bright Stars on Monday 6th while BUL will host Wakiso Giants on Tuesday 7th at Najjembe.
