Uganda Cranes head coach Paul Joseph Put has trimmed the African Nations Championship (CHAN) team to 28 players.
The Belgian had named a provisional squad of 36 players but he has reduced it to 28 players who will enter residential training at Paradise Hotel on Monday, 13th January 2025.
Ivan Ahimbisibwe, Walter Ochora, Ibrahim Thembo, Brian Jjara, Isima Magala and Moses Aliro are the players dropped while Hakim Kiwanuka and Denis Omedi who had been called on the provisional squad are now ineligible to feature in the CHAN tournament following their transfers to Rwanda’s APR.
Milton Karisa and Sadat Anaku who play for Vipers SC and KCCA FC are out due to respective injuries.
The 2024 CHAN Tournament will kickoff on 1st February to 28th of the same month and will be Co-hosted in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. The draw will be conducted on Wednesday, 15th January in Kenya.
