Turkish Women’s second tier side Kayserispor Women’s FC have signed Ugandan forward Laki Otandeka Kanyesigye from English lower division side Doncaster Rovers Belles.

Otandeka officially switched to Kayserispor last week and subsequently made her debut in the 3-1 defeat to Sakaryaspor.

Kayserispor are aiming for promotion to the topflight despite a false start to the promotion playoffs last week.

Otandeka brings experience to the Kayseri based club having previously played in USA, England, Germany and recently Lithuania.

Besides Doncaster Rovers Belles, Otandeka played for New Jersey Copa (USA) as well as SV67 Weinberg and MSV Duisburg in Germany.

She also featured for Lithuanian topflight sides Saned Joniskis and MFA Zalgiris before returning to Doncaster Rovers Belles at the start of the current season.

Otandeka, 28, has seven caps with the Crested Cranes and scored two goals during the 2016 CECAFA Women’s Championship in Njeru.

Her most recent appearance with the Crested Cranes came in 2021 during the COSAFA Women’s Championship in South Africa.

Joan Nabirye (Trabzonspor) and Natasha Shirazi (Hitabspor Bornava) are the other Ugandan players plying their trade in Turkey.
