Soltilo Bright Stars find themselves precariously positioned second from the bottom of the Uganda Premier League after suffering a disappointing 2-0 defeat to resurgent Kitara FC on Monday.

Kabon Living and Patrick Henry Kaddu scored Kitara FC’s two goals at the Royal Park in Butema, Hoima City.

Kabon gave the home side the lead when he headed home a Frank Tumwesigye alias Zaga corner kick.

Second half substitutes Kaddu and John Byaruhanga connected perfectly for the second goal.

Kaddu struck the second in the 65th minute after being fed by a sensational Byaruhanga cross.

Kitara FC have won five consecutive home games and are unbeaten in nine games, keeping clean sheets in all the games.

They last lost a league contest in November, 2024 when Bright Stars smiled to a 1-0 victory at Kavumba.

Kitara are currently fifth with 25 points while Bright Stars are second from the bottom with 11 points.

Meanwhile, UPDF edged Mbarara City 1-0 in the other game played on Monday at Kakyeka Stadium thanks to a Martin Owalamu own goal.
