Kataka FC clinched the final Semifinal slot in the Stanbic Uganda Cup with a 3-0 penalty shootout win over 2023 runners-up Police FC.
The two sides played out to a goalless stalemate in normal time and extra-time.
Police FC had their skipper Tony Kiwalazi, Augustine Kacancu and Ben Ocen all hit the crossbar in the dramatic shootout at Kavumba.
Kataka scored all their penalties through Markus Aka, Mohammed Biafulo and Ali Sentamu to eliminate Matia Lule’s side.
Lule was left in despair as Kataka prevail to the Semifinal stage for the first time in the club’s history.
Before setting up a quarterfinal meeting with Police FC, the FUFA Big League side had eliminated URA FC in the round of 16 stage via a post match shootout.
Kataka joins holders Kitara FC who ejected BUL FC, ten time competition winners KCCA FC who edged Kaaro Karungi and Vipers SC who eliminated SC Villa into the semis.
