Vipers SC central defender Livingstone Mulondo is in a rare race for the Golden Boot of this year’s Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Despite being a defender, Mulondo has three goals so far just like five other players who are also vying for the Golden Boot.

“C4” as widely known, scored two goals as Vipers beat Tepa FC in Ngora in the round of 64 and also scored one as the Venoms beat Blacks Power 3-0 in the Round of 16 at Kitende.

Other candidates for the Golden Boot are Yunus Sentamu (Vipers), KCCA duo of Derrick Nsibambi and Usama Arafati, Abdul Kalanzi (Lugazi FC) and BUL FC striker Karim Ndugwa.

Unlike Ndugwa and Kalanzi, Mulondo, Sentamu, Nsibambi and Usama have a chance of extending their tally in the final that will be played on Saturday at Kadiba Stadium.

Vipers are chasing a double having won the Uganda Premier League a fortnight ago whereas KCCA seek to end their six year trophy drought.
