Cranes captain Aucho leaves Yanga

Uganda Cranes captain Khalid Aucho has announced that he has played his final game for Tanzania Premier League side Yanga Africans FC.

Aucho joined Yanga in 2021 and has spent four seasons with them and his biggest highlight came in 2023 when the club finished as runners up in the CAF Confederation Cup. He has also won the Tanzania Premier League on four consecutive seasons.

In the announcement made on his official Facebook and X handles, Aucho did not reveal his next move but stressed the fact that Yanga had become part of his family and hoped to meet them again in the future.

“……. I want to say that the time has come to close an unforgettable chapter in my life, Over the past four seasons , I have experienced intense emotions, achieved incredible goals and built incredible memories with you all”

He said.

“Today I say goodbye with gratitude and love in my heart and the certainty that I will always carry these colours with me whenever I go. This is not a final farewell but see you later filled with hope . See you in the futures ” .

Aucho started his career with Jinja based side Jinja Municipal, later Water FC, army side Simba FC, Tusker and Gor Mahia in Kenya, Baroka in South Africa, Red Star Belgrade in Serbia, East Bengal , Makkasa in Egypt among others.
