The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) President Samir Xaud has just said the following in a live interview on Sportv (Globo’s cable channel).
In addition to hosting the 2014 World Cup, Brazil will host the Women’s World Cup in 2027. The 2029 Club World Cup would use the same structure as other major FIFA events in the country.
“I was there [at the Club World Cup. Not only did the clubs put on a show, but the Brazilian fans also packed the stadiums and were very enthusiastic. This excited [FIFA President Gianni] Infantino. I used the good moment of Brazilian football and gave him my message: ‘Brazil is applying to host the next Club World Cup in 2029.’ Brazil has all the infrastructure to host the tournament. It would be very good for Brazilian football, for the Brazilian clubs. I am very committed to this matter. It will be in the last year of my term; I want to host this tournament for Brazilian Football.”

Another country that has already expressed its views on the tournament is Australia. After the success of the 2023 Women’s World Cup, the local federation announced that the country would bid to host both the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup (already confirmed) and the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup.
Nothing has been made official yet, however. Not even FIFA has released anything about how the selection will be made.
