Ethiopia Premier League champions Ethiopia Insurance have awarded Ugandan forward Allan Kayiwa with a new contract.
Kayiwa has signed a new one year contract as the club embarks on preparations for the forthcoming season.
Kayiwa scored five goals and one assist in the 22 league games he played for Ethiopia Insurance last season.
Kayiwa joined Ethiopia Insurance last year in April after a brief stint with Shashemene City, also in the Ethiopian Premier League.
Prior to the move to Ethiopia, Kayiwa turned out for Vipers SC, Express FC and Soana FC.
He played an important role as Ethiopia Insurance raced to the league title in the closing stages of the previous season.
Ethiopia Insurance will play against Zanzibar’s Mlandege FC in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League Qualifiers.
The eventual aggregate winning team of the tie will face the winner between defending champions Pyramids FC and Rwanda’s APR FC in the subsequent round.
