Uganda Cranes utility player Kenneth Semakula has joined Saudi Arabian second tier club Al Adalah Club on a two year contract.

Semakula has switched to Saudi Arabia from Kuwait’s Al Arabi SC, a club he joined in July this year from Tunisia’s Club Africain.

Semakula played 84 minutes as Al Adalah Club lost 1-0 to topflight giants Al Hilal in the Round of 32 of the Saudi King’s Cup last evening.

In fact, Semakula made his office debut over the weekend as Al Adalah Club lost 3-1 to Dirayah Club in the League.

His club, Al Adalah will be striving to earn promotion to the topflight having lost last season’s promotion playoff final to Al Hazem FC.

The Uganda Cranes defensive midfielder is the third CECAFA Region player in the Saudi Arabian second tier this season after Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana (Burundi) and Eric Johana Omondi (Kenya) who play for Jeddah Club and Al Zulfi respectively.

Former Vipers Brazilian coach Robertinho is the coach of the Jeddah Sports Club.

Last season, Halid Lwaliwa was the Uganda Cranes player featuring in the Saudi Arabian second tier before his club Al Ain suffered relegation in the closing stages of the campaign.

Semakula has risen through the ranks from the national U20 team (The Hippos) to the senior team.

The former SC Villa captain made his Uganda Cranes debut in 2022 and has since played 28 more games for the national team.
