The 2024/25 FUFA Juniors League will officially climax this Wednesday (September 24th) at the FUFA Stadium, Kadiba with Vipers Junior Team taking on the record holders BUL FC Junior Team at 3pm.
The final is between the winning teams of the Treble Group and the Hat Trick Group and without a doubt the most consistent teams in the league this term.
BUL Junior Team emerged as the table leaders of the Hat Trick group with 65 points amassed from 21 games played.
Vipers Junior Team led the Treble Group table with 58 points from 21 games, 13 points clear of the second placed URA FC Junior Team.
BUL FC are seeking for their record-extending fourth FUFA Juniors League title having previously won the title in the last three editions.
The Jinja based side won the 2018/19 title after beating KCCA on penalties, the 2022/23 title on goal difference after finishing level on points with KCCA and won the 2023/24 edition with a 1-0 win over KCCA at the FUFA Technical Center Njeru.
Vipers Junior Team are aiming for their third FUFA Juniors League title having previously won the title in the 2015/16 and 2017/18 seasons.
Vipers beat KCCA on penalties to win the 2015/16 edition before beating Onduparaka’s Ondunyiri 1-0 at Lugogo in the 2017/18 edition thanks to Sula Mpanga’s lone goal.
The final will also be spiced up by the battle for the Golden Boot between BUL’s Ivan Mataru who has 20 goals and Vipers forward Simon Wanyama who has so far managed to net 18 goals.
The FUFA Juniors League has proved a cornerstone for the national under-age teams contributing directly to the composition and success of the U17 and U20 Team in the recent past.
