Future Stars Launches 10-Days Multi-Sport Residential Holiday Training Camp

AS schools break off for the long December holiday, children between the age of 7 and 17 will have an opportunity to develop their athletic abilities through a newly launched multi-discipline sports camp organized by Future Stars Sports Academy.

The camp, officially launched yesterday, November 18, at Gayaza Junior School with support from its sister campus, Gayaza High School and Wakiso Sports department represented by the chairman of this committee Brian Ssenyonga.

Among other who graced the launch, Simon Mugabi the CEO of Uganda Badminton Association the camp coordinator and the headmistress of the host school Gayaza Junior Sarah Kizito.

According to the organizers, this will feature training in football, netball, and racket games, among other physical activities aimed to keep children active and productive during the holiday while offering professional coaching to sharpen their skills. A team of expert technical personnel, including certified coaches and sports educators, will conduct the sessions.

Speaking at the launch, camp coordinators highlighted that the program is designed to nurture young talent, promote discipline, and encourage healthy lifestyles. They added that the partnership with Gayaza Junior School and Gayaza High School provides a conducive environment with quality sports facilities.

” With the experience in leadership at continental level i am the vice president in charge of development in African Badminton Federation i have experience in organizing camps for 34 years started way back 1991.” Mugabi stated.

” We as Wakiso Sports department we are part of this initiative because it has a package every child need when it comes to Sports development.” Said Ssenyonga

Sarah Kizito, the headmistress of Gayaza Junior school is elated that her school will be hosting the event this holiday

”I am so proud as host school for this great opportunity to partner with Future Stars to shaping the future of sports for the next generation.” Said Kizito

She is also optimistic about the camp which she believes will nurture new talents, keep students fit in mind and body as well as occupy them in this long holiday environment which safe and secure.

The Future Stars December Sports Camp is expected to conclude on 17 December with a showcase event where participants will demonstrate the skills gained in football, netball, and racket games.
