Kawempe Muslim edged Lady Doves 1-0 at the Katusabe Grounds in Masindi to stretch their lead on the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League table to five points.
Asia Nakibuuka scored the all important goal as early as the 5th minute of the game to ensure a 7th consecutive win for the Ayub Khalifa coached side.
Kawempe Muslim have won all their seven successive games after drawing 1-1 against Kampala Queens on the opening day of the season.
Prior to this Match Day 8 duel, Kawempe had earned victories over Olila HS (3-1), St. Noa (2-1), Uganda Martyrs (1-0), She Maroons (2-0), She Corporate (2-0), Amus College (2-1).
Kawempe remain the only unbeaten team in the league and have accumulated four clean sheets in the process.
Their 7th victory of the season coincided with Kampala Queens’ 2-0 defeat to She Maroons at Luzira.
Kawempe Muslim have now garnered 22 points, five better than Kampala Queens and She Corporate who are 2nd and 3rd placed respectively.
Kawempe will host early relegation strugglers Asubo Ladies in their next fixture on Saturday 29th November in a bid to stretch their lead.
