Ugandan Government is set to purchase more land from the Bunyoro Kitara Diocese for the construction of a training field attached to the newly constructed Hoima City Stadium.
This week, a delegation from National Council of Sports led by Chairman Tashobya inspected 100 acres at Sir Tito Winy College.
The training field that the government plans to construct will be attached to the Hoima City Stadium and will be used at the 2027 African Nations Cup (AFCON) tournament that Uganda will co-host alongside Kenya and Tanzania.
NCS also intends to expand the 100-acre project into a National Sports Academy that will accommodate a football training field attached to Hoima stadium, another six training pitches for the academy itself, outdoor courts for basketball and volleyball, a hostel for visitors, gym, dormitories for resident students, classrooms and an administration block and swimming pool.

The 100- acre project is a few kilometers from Hoima City Stadium along the Hoima-Masindi Highway.
Hoima city stadium construction was constructed by SUMMA and it will be officially handed over to the government of Uganda, expected this December 2025.
