Oweek.Robert Serwanga on Tuesday held a meeting with representatives from some National Federations in his office at Bulange Mengo.
The meeting was to find possible ways on how to improve and see how various games can be developed and promoted within the Kingdom.
Hajji Hamid Gombe the Vice President FC, Nakisozi Batenga the Uganda Rowing General Secretary, Moses Mwase President Uganda Aquatics and Brian Ssenyonga Treasurer Uganda Table Tennis who also doubles as the Wakiso District Sports were among those in attendance.
Oweek.Serwanga asked all Federations to join hands in developing all games,
“Our responsibilities as leaders is finding possible ways of seeing how we can help the athletes improve on their skills,my humble request to you is joining us in improving/ development talents.”
“Buganda has worked with counties and land has been provided at least right now we have five that have provided at least ten acres for sports facilities and we can only achieve that when we join hands.”
Nakisozi Batenga the Uganda Rowing General Secretary who is also the nations head coach appreciated the Kingdom for the initiative,
“It’s been an honour to get us involved in such meetings it gives us hope that Buganda Kingdom is more than committed to develop different games providing land is the best option we gave always prayed for as administratiors it keeps us focused.”
Hajji Gombe vowed to join efforts with the kingdom to promote motor sports,
” I couldn’t miss out on this meeting we have shared a lot with the Minister and we are more than ready to have routes in all counties we promise to fully work with the kingdom.”
Previously Oweek.Serwanga officially launched the Kingdom’s 2026 activity Calender that will start with the Buganda Sports Awards Gala that is to be held on 6th- February and climax on 20th November with the Inter- Agency games.
