Express FC and Entebbe UPPC played out to a goalless stalemate during their league contest at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo on Saturday.
The Red Eagles lost several of their key players in this transfer window.
Players such as Muhammad Kagawa Ssenoga, Hakim Wandera, Richard Basangwa and Abdulai Rashid Kawawa joined NEC FC.
But the Jimmy Kintu Mwera coached side put up a decent performance against Abdallah Mubiru’s side.
Ambrose Kigozi had the first chance of the game but failed to punish the hosts in the 16th minute of the contest.
Innocent Asiimwe had his strike hit the side net for Express moments later.
Entebbe UPPC also had another attempt with John Kokas Alou failing to head the bar past Express goalkeeper Khassim Hafizi.
In the second period, Noordin Bunjo who came on as a substitute forced the Red Eagles custodian Hafizi into a decent save.
The stalemate sees Entebbe UPPC go to fourth place on 31 points while Express are 10th with 17 points.
Mubiru’s side side next host UPDF on Tuesday while Express visit Calvary FC in Yumbe.
