Congolese goalkeeper Alfred Macumu Mudekereza has part ways with Uganda Premier league champions Vipers SC, Swift Sports Uganda understands.

This website has established that the experienced custodian will not extend his stay following expiration of his contract last month.

Mudekereza joined the Venoms as a free agent in July, 2022 and has gone on to win three league titles with the club.

He is remembered for his heroics in the tense penalty shootout over TP Mazembe that saw Vipers reach the group stages of the CAF Champions league in the 2022/23 season for the first time in the club’s history.

He also won two Stanbic Uganda Cups trophies during his time at Kitende.

Before joining the Kitende based side, Mudekereza had previously featured for OC Bukavu Dawa and AS Vita both from his home country DR Congo.

Vipers are believed to be in the market for another experienced goalkeeper to boost the goalkeeping department that now has Dennis Kiggundu, Bashir Ssekagya and Jack Komakech.

This transfer window Vipers have already beefed up their squad with the acquistion of Nicholas Mwere, Jacques Mangoba and Joel Sserunjogi. They also appointed Frenchman Denis Lavagne as their new head coach.
