Kyaddondo Ssaza head coach Bright Nyanzi Taddeo has stepped aside from his role after his side’s 1-0 defeat to Busujju during the Masaza Cup Matchday three at Kakindu Stadium.

Nyanzi made the decision just after the game with several reports indicating that Kyaddondo fans confronted him with Police being forced to fire teargas to clear the venue.

“The team is not bad, the run has been not bad so far and the progress was visible, but for the purposes of my life, I decided to step aside,” Nyanzi said as quoted by Voice of Bugerere.

Kyaddondo’s frustrations deepened during the encounter after goalkeeper Ashraf Bwabye was sent off, leaving the visitors to finish the match with 10 men as Busujju secured the decisive goal.

Nyanzi leaves Kyaddondo winless in their opening three games this term, following two draws against Buweekula and Buddu as well as Sunday’s defeat to Busujju.

Nyanzi is CAF B licensed coach and has previously, served as assistant coach to Simon Peter Mugerwa when Busiro lifted the 2023 Masaza Cup title. He also guided Rines Secondary School to the USSSA U20 Girls’ Football Championship.
