SC Villa will return to Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku to face Stanbic Uganda Cup winners Kitara FC on Saturday at 4PM.
The Jogoos will be aiming for revenge against the Royals who edged them 2-1 in the final of last season’s Uganda Cup final at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru in May.
The two sides also met in the FUFA Super 8 contest which ended goalless at Nakivubo with SC Villa winning on penalties.
Wasswa Bbosa’s Kitara come into this contest after losing 3-1 to Vipers in the Super Cup last week and will be aiming to kickoff the campaign on a positive.
The Royals are also to use the Villa tie as a match as preparation for their CAF Confederation Cup clash against Mogadishu City next week.
Villa who finished third last season will be without former Kitara midfielder Najib Yiga and vice-captain Aslam Ssemakula ruled out. They will look up their top scorer for last term Frank Ssebuufu and their starman Patrick Kakande for positive results.
Kitara’s Nicholas Kasozi, Emmanuel Wasswa, Isa Lumu, George Ssenkaaba and Martin Kizza will be facing their former paymasters.
Kitara has an edge over SC Villa in the previous meetings, winning four wins, losing three with three games ending in stalemates.
