Ethiopia Premier League side Mechal FC have completed the signing of South Sudanese striker Tito Okello, Swift Sports understands.
Okello has joined the Ethiopian defense forces club on a one year contract from Libyan side Al Sadaqa Sports Club.
Okello is a well travelled player who has had stints in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Macau, Iran, Libya as well as Indonesia.
He played for KCCA FC, BUL FC, SC Villa and Vipers locally in the Uganda Premier League, Africa Lyon and Mbeya City in Tanzania and Kenyan sides Gor Mahia and Kenya Police FC.
He had stints in Asia with Benfica Macau in Macau, Paykan FC in the Iranian League and Indonesia side PSM Makkassar.
The lanky striker spent the past two seasons in Libya while turning out for Abelasshar SC, Libyan Stadium FC and recently Al Sadaqa SC.
His new side Mechal FC is a former home of Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi and former Express forward Charles Musiige.
Alionzi is currently a free agent whereas Musiige has joined Bahir Dar City following his departure from the club.
Okello has been an integral part in South Sudan’s national team’s progress since switching allegiance from Uganda in 2021.
