Denis Lavagne shown exit doors at Vipers

Frenchman Denis Lavagne has been relieved of his duties at Uganda Premier League club Vipers SC.
“Vipers Sports Club informs its stakeholders and general public that it has by mutual consent ended its contractual relationship with Mr. Denis Lavagne (Head Coach) effective October 24th, 2026.
The club would like to thank Lavagne for his services during his stay at the Venoms family and wishes him the best in his career development. ”
A statement from the club website read.
Having only been appointed on June 30th this year, Lavagne will go down in history of the club as one of the coaches with the shortest reigns.
Lavagne’s favour in the eyes of the top management at Vipers hit rock bottom when he was eliminated by lowly Mauritanian side FC Nouadhibou from the CAF Confederation cup after failing to win a single tie home and away.
He leaves the club’s title defence in jeopardy after falling 8 points behind leaders BUL albeit having a game in hand. His last game was a lacklustre performance against the struggling Police FC at home.
With his rich CV of previously coaching the Cameroon national team, Coton Sport Garua FC in Cameroon, Etoile du Sahel in Tunisia, Al Hilal among others, it was believed that the French man would better what his predecessor Belgian coach Ivan Jacky Minnaert had managed but he leaves as a disappointment.
The Club has not commented on the interim yet.
