Sam Ssimbwa to replace Jimmy Kintu as URA head coach

Sam Ssimbwa will replace Jimmy Kintu Mwera as URA FC head coach, Swift Sports Uganda can reliably confirm.
Kintu will depart his role as the tax collectors’ head coach following a poor string of results that has seen the club register just one win in their opening six league matches.
Ssimbwa, who has been unemployed since his departure as Uganda Cranes assistant coach in November last year, has already agreed terms with the revenue collectors.
The move will see Ssimbwa return to the club he managed between 2018 and 2021, where he narrowly missed out on guiding the club to the 2020/21 league title after they finished second to Express FC.
Ssimbwa has previously served at Express FC where he won the 2011/12 title, KCCA FC, SC Villa, Kitara FC, Tusker FC, Mbale Heroes, Simba SC, Masaka FC, defunct SC Victoria University, and Sofapaka among others.
The tax collectors are currently 15th on the Uganda Premier League table with just four points garnered in six games.
