Vipers Sports Club has announced that it has by mutual consent ended its contractual relationship with Head Coach Denis Lavagne effective October 24th, 2026.
In a statement released by the club, Vipers said:
“Vipers Sports Club informs its stakeholders and general public that it has by mutual consent ended its contractual relationship with Mr. Denis Lavagne (Head Coach) effective October 24th, 2026.
“The club would like to thank Lavagne for his services during his stay at the Venoms family and wishes him the best in his career development.”
Lavagne leaves after Friday’s goalless draw against Police FC at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, a result that left the reigning champions with just one home win in four games this season.
The French tactician had guided Vipers to a 5-0 win over Kataka but results at Kitende, including draws with Maroons and Police, as well as the CAF Champions League exit to Mauritania’s FC Nouadhibou at the first preliminary round piled pressure on his position. Vipers also had a disappointing run in the CECAFA Kagame Cup.
He leaves the Venoms on 11 points they have so far collected this term in the Uganda Premier League.
Lavagne took over in June this year from Belgian Ivan Jacky Ivan Minnaert who guided the club to their eighth league title.
