Modern Pentathlon: 16 coaches graduate after completing UIPM CCP level one coaching course

The five-day UIPM CCP Level one Coaching Course organized by the Uganda Modern Pentathlon Federation officially came to an end on Saturday, 4th February at Kampala Parents School.
The course attracted 16 coaches who graduated on Saturday.
Uganda Olympic Committee President Donald Rukare graced the closing ceremony.
He commended the graduands to spread the Olympic sport across the country.
“As the Uganda Olympic Committee we hail the Uganda Modern Pentathlon Federation for organizing this course. The graduands will help to spread the game across the country most especially in schools.” Said Rukare
Yasser Hefny, the main instructor from Egypt congratulated all coaches and encouraged them to continue to learn more about the game
“I congratulate all the coaches for passing our course. I encourage everyone to learn more about the sport, I have enjoyed staying here in Uganda.” Said Hefny
The 16 coaches came from Uganda People’s Defence Air Forces, Uganda Police, Uganda Prisons, schools such as Kampala Parents, Kyambogo University and Makerere University.
The Uganda Modern Pentathlon Federation (UMPF) is led by Simon Peter Komakech
“It’s my pleasure that we have ended the course and the knowledge the coaches have gained will benefit them and the athletes.” Stated Komakech
This was the first ever coaches’ training held the country since the sport was introduced in 2017.
Modern pentathlon is an Olympic sport that comprises of fencing (one-touch épée), freestyle swimming, equestrian show jumping, pistol shooting, and cross country running.
