BIG LEAGUE: Ssimbwa starts Kitara assignment with trip to lowly Northern Gateway

The FUFA Big League returns with seven games on the cards following a month break.
All eyes with be on Sam Ssimbwa who will be in charge of his first game as Kitara FC head coach in an away fixture against the whipping boys Northern Gateway in Lira.
Ssimbwa took helms after the suspension of Mark Twinamatsiko who guided the club to a top of table finish in the first round.
Kitara lead the table with 31 points from 15 games played while their opponents Northern Gateway are sitting bottom of the table with only 10 points.
Ssimbwa expressed his concern about the club’s poor away form and highlighted the need to improve starting with the duel in Lira.
“We have only managed to pick one victory away against Lugazi United two months ago but we are piecing things together to make sure we improve our display on the road.” Ssimbwa said via the club website.
” We believe the training will also arouse the attitude and character we need from our players because you can not only win home games and expect to lift the league trophy, there must be a balance and it’s what’s we are working on.” He added.
Newly signed quartet of Paul Mucureezi, Godfrey Lwesibawa, George Senkaaba and Farouk Katongole is in line to debut for the club.
The reverse fixture ended 4-0 in Kitara’s favour thanks to a Patrick Kaddu hat trick and a goal from Edson Agondeze.
Other games on the day see Mbarara City taking on Booma FC in Masindi while NEC host Calvary FC.
The game between Kaaro Karungi and Luweero United has been postponed while Adjumani Town Council will lock horns with Soroti City in an early relegation six-pointer.
