Star man Laban Tibita scored a penalty and missed the other as Busoga United picked a vital point from the Jinja derby to intensify their survival hopes.

They move four points clear of 14th placed Blacks Power.

The derby played at Kakindu Stadium lived up to it’s pre match billing as the fans were fully served with entertainment on an evening where the Muslim community marked IDD celebrations.

BUL went Infront on 27 minutes thanks to an Ibrahim Kazindula penalty to send the game into half time with the visitors in the lead.

Simeone Masaba’s men had come into this game having played the previous four without tasting victory. In fact Masaba has not presided over any victory since taking over from Alex Isabirye who joined Vipers SC last month.

In resumption to the second period, Tibita and Busoga United engaged top gear which saw them win a penalty which the diminutive number 10 flawlessly converted to send the game level on 53 minutes.

Referee Paul Turyamuhebwa wasn’t done with his generosity in splashing penalties as the hosts were the beneficiaries again.

Tibita this time denied his team a chance to go Infront as Said Keni did his homework well and stopped the ball from entering.

1-1 is how the game ended and the points consequently shared. BUL maintain 5th place on 31 points as Busoga also keep their 12th place on 23 points.

Masaba will extend his search for a maiden win when BUL host Soltilo Bright Stars at Njeru on April 28th as Busoga will be visiting Soltilo Bright Stars at Kavumba on May 3rd.
