Uganda Cranes head coach Paul Joseph Put brimming with confidence ahead of their Friday showdown with South Sudan in the AFCON 2025 qualifier under the floodlights of Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.
Put’s charges will be aiming for back to back home wins when they welcome their neighbors.
“I have confidence in the players, i have been seeing them in training. We have a young team but we play at home and we know the support at home can push the players to a high level. It’s also an opportunity for the new players who joined the group to show since one game can change your entire life.
“We have to deliver good results tomorrow and I have confidence in the players.” Said Put.
Uganda currently tops Group K with four points they garnered against South Africa and Congo Brazzaville in September.
Put and his charges are aiming to return to the continental showpiece for the first time since 2019 and have missed out on the previous two editions (2021 and 2023).
