Uganda Cranes and Vipers SC attacker Allan Okello believes that AFCON qualification is more important than playing style.
The Uganda Cranes team faced criticism following their scrappy 1-0 win over South Sudan at Mandela National Stadium on Friday.
According to Okello who came on as a second half substitute in the win over South Sudan, qualification is more important for the Cranes than playing style.
“I think results are more important for us to think about no matter how we play, we need those results. We need to go back to AFCON, I have never been there like many other members on the team. So in our mind, it’s for us to be there and no matter how we play, I think it’s good for us to qualify.”
“Maybe after the qualification , we shall work on our mistakes.” Said Okello
Uganda Cranes will be eyeing a double over South Sudan when the two sides face off on Tuesday in Juba.
Paul Put’s charges need four points from their remaining three games to secure qualification to the continental showpiece in Morocco next year.
The Cranes have missed the previous two editions 2021 and 2023 with their last appearance coming in 2019.
