Isaac Ogwang netted a late equalizer to salvage a point for Police FC in their 2-2 draw with Express FC at Kavumba on Wednesday as the Uganda Premier league resumed following the international break.
Ogwang gave the home side the lead in the 33rd minute sending Simon Peter Mugerwa coached side into a deserved halftime lead.
Two minutes after the recess, the Red Eagles levelled through Sam Ssenyonjo.
In the 78th minute, Ssenyonjo completed his brace with a sensational strike to give the Red Eagles the lead.
The Cops were awarded a late penalty following a foul on Ogwang in the forbidden area in the final minutes of the game.
Ogwang was entrusted with the responsibility and netted from 12 yards to earn Police a point.
Mugerwa’s charges also remain unbeaten this term and are currently on seven points after five games.
Express FC stay in third on the league standings with eight points.
Meanwhile, Lugazi FC and Mbale Heroes FC shared spoils in a 1-1 stalemate in the other game that was played on Wednesday in Najjembe.
