SC Villa squander two goal lead to share spoils with Soltilo Bright Stars

Soltilo Bright Stars had two goals disallowed in the later minutes of the second half but still managed to collect a point from Muteesa II Wankulukuku.

Villa had taken control of the first half and were rewarded with two goals thanks to a Patrick Jonah Kakande penalty and a Charles Lwanga close range effort.

The Jogoos could have gone into the half time break with a more comfortable lead but Hakim Kiwanuka’s lobbed ball towards an empty net simply went over the bar at the stroke of half time.

Returning for the second period, a re-energised Soltilo Bright Stars assumed control of proceedings and were repaid with a goal thanks to a superb free kick by Paskali Oketcho in the 75th minute.

Morley Byekwaso pressed the panic buttons and made 3 changes, withdrawing Ronald Sekiganda, Charles Lwanga and Najib Yiga.

On came Isaac Mpagi, Peter Onzima and Ronald Ankunda .

The tripple substitution did not save the situation with Bright stars intensifying their quest for an equaliser.

They scored two quick fire goals but were all cancelled for offside and handball respectively.

Villa failed to heed from the warning shots and the inevitable eventually happened in the 87th minute as Khassim Mustapha fired home a thunderbolt that Braddy Wokorachi only managed to tap into.

Bright Stars however remain winless this term and have only managed to collect 3 points. They will next face an in form Mbarara city at Kavumba October 22nd.

Villa and their underfire Morley Byekwaso will visit Maroons at Luzira on the same day.
