Hakim Kiwanuka, Mugolofa earn Cranes call ups as Put names squad for S.Africa, Congo games

Uganda Cranes Head Coach Paul Put has summoned the squad that will face South Africa and Congo Brazzaville in the final games of the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers this month.

Uganda will be seeking to seal a place in next year’s continental showpiece when they host South Africa at Mandela National Stadium on 15th November 2024 before visiting Congo four days later.

SC Villa’s Hakim Kiwanuka who has been in fine form this season has been summoned by the Belgian. Kiwanuka has so far netted three league goals this term.

KCCA FC goalkeeper Mutwalib Mugolofa who has six clean-sheets in seven league games is also part of the squad summoned.

The named squad will enter residential camp on Sunday at Cranes Paradise, Kisasi with foreign based players joining the local based players.

Uganda currently leads Group K with 10 points, two ahead of South Africa while Congo have four points. South Sudan are pointless.
