South Africa suffer injury blow ahead of Cranes clash

South Africa will be without forward Mihlali Mayambela for their crucial AFCON 2025 qualifier against Uganda Cranes.

Mayambela got injured while featuring for his side Cypriot Club Aris Limassol over the weekend.

He had been named in the Bafana Bafana 23- man squad to face Uganda Cranes on 15th November and South Sudan.

Mayambela has been replaced with Devin Titus from Stellenbosch FC.

The 1996 AFCON champions will arrive in Uganda on Thursday morning ahead of their showdown with the Cranes due on Friday.

Hugo Broos’ men are second in Group K with eight points two adrift of leaders Uganda. Bafana Bafana need two points to secure a slot in Morocco’s showpiece.
