Two time world cross-country champion Jacob Kiplimo smashed the 15Km World Record at Kiplimo smashes 15Km World Record at Zevenheuvelenloop in Nijmegen.
He took 23 second off his own course record to smile to a new fastest time at the distance of 40:42.

Kiplimo won in the same distance last year in Nijmegen to equal his compatriot Joshua Cheptegei’s record set in 2018.
The previous record set by the two Ugandans was 41:05.
On Sunday, 17th November, Kiplimo reached 2Km with a clear lead and his lead continued to grow until he climaxed with a new record time.
Mike Foppen of the Netherlands emerged from the chase pack to take second place in 43:19, two seconds ahead of Britain’s Marc Scott.
Ethiopia’s Mizan Alem won the women’s race on her debut at the distance. She clinched the title in 46:51.
