Grace Kasango prevailed to the 2024 professionals title at the 26th edition of the Kinyara Golf Open in Masindi.
Kasango managed a score of 143 gross in 36 holes in the paid ranks category at the event that was played at Kinyara Golf Course in Masindi.
This is Kasango’s second professional triumph at the Kinyara Golf Open following his 2022 victory.
Tom Jjingo was second with 145 while Ronald Bukenya finished third with 146. Joseph Mawejje managed a score of 149 to finish fourth whereas Adolf Muhumuza finished in fifth with 150.
Emma Ogwang, Silver Opio, Samuel Kato and Peter Ssendaula finished sixth,seventh, eighth and ninth respectively.
Kasango also pockets a lion’s share of Shs10M for his triumph at event that saw over 17 professionals take part.
Trophies, prizes as Television set, Refrigerator and other goodies are to be rewarded to the outstanding golfers.
The 2024 edition also had over 100 golfers participate in the subsidiary category.
Meanwhile, Joseph Kasozi won the Amateurs category with a score of 216 in 53 holes played over three rounds.
The top five in the amateurs category share a prize money of Shs5M. This year’s competition had a total of 26 amateurs.
The tournament is organized by Kinyara Sugar Works who are supported by Liaison Group, ICEA Lion Insurance, Gold Star Insurance Company Limited, UAP Old Mutual, Sanlam Insurance and MUA as the other partners.
