Uganda’s Nile Queens off To Congo for Handball Africa Cup of Nations

The Uganda Handball National team head coach Oroitin Jimmy Remmie and technical team have named a squad of fourteen squad to compete at the Handball Africa Cup of Nations.

Uganda’s Nile Queens make a return to the continental showpiece after 45 Years since 1978 in Algiers, Algeria.

The Nile Queens have been training since October 5, 2024, in Bakuli, Mengo with a group of 24 players.

The 26th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations will be held in Kinshasa, DR Congo, from November 27 to December 7, 2024.

Uganda is in group B alongside hosts DR Congo, Angola, Tunisia, Guinea, and Cameroon. The top four teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals.

This tournament also serves as a qualifier for the 2025 Women’s Handball World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Germany and the Netherlands.

The team safely landed in Congo on Monday 25th November 2024.
