FUFA bans twelve over match manipulation

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has banned 12 individuals from football related activities for involvement in match manipulation.

The banned individuals include nine referees, two administrators and one player.

Referee Ali Kaddu has been banned by the Federation for life while other officials Atuhaire Dorcus, Atuheirwe Joyce, Okello Simon Peter, George Sajjabi, Nabisere Tausi have received a three year ban whereas Muyaga Khalid will not take part in football related activities for two years.

Former BUL FC Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Kongola has been banned for five years while Epieru Richard will serve a three year suspension.

Latif Kiyemba is the only player banned by the Federation and will be out of action for a period of one year.

According to FUFA the individuals breached Article 43 of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code.

FUFA stated that the sanctions imposed on the individuals were taken based on the different mitigating and aggravating circumstances for each party in regard to the degree of involvement in the match-fixing and the level of assistance and cooperation the investigation.

The banned 12 Individuals;

1.Kaddu Ali- banned for life

2.Sajjabi Geoffrey- banned for 10 years

3. Kongola Ahmed- banned for 5 years

4. Epieru Richard- banned for 3 years

5. Atuheirwe Joyce- banned for 3 years

6. Nabisere Tausi-banned for 3 years

7.Okello Simon Peter-banned for 3 years

8. Nantatya Godwin-banned for 3 years

9. Muyaga Khalid-banned for 2 Years

10. Noor Hassan-banned for 1 Year

11. Kiyemba Latif-banned for 1 Year

12. Atuhaire Docus – banned for 1 Year
