NEC FC registered their first win over SC Villa on Friday to go top of the Uganda Premier League.
Hussein Mbalangu coached side beat the record league champions 2-1, thanks to Paul Mucureezi and Cromwell Rwothomio goals.
Hakim Kiwanuka scored SC Villa’s goal who remain winless on the road.
Before Friday’s victory, NEC had lost both of their only two meetings against the Jogoos.
Mucureezi fired the hosts into the lead in the 57th minute after Villa defenders failed to clear their lines.
Kiwanuka levelled for the visitors in the 72nd minute for his fifth goal of the season.
Rwothomio who replaced Emmanuel Ajo won it for NEC in the closing stages of the game capitalizing of SC Villa’s poor defending.
NEC go top of the table with 22 points while SC Villa remain fifth with 14 points.
