Lugazi FC 1-1 Mbarara City
Ali Bayo Arshavin scored a late equalizer as Lugazi FC settled for a draw against Mbarara City at the Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe.
The former SC Villa and NEC central midfielder struck perfectly in the 86th minute to equalize for the Steven Bogere coached side.
Mbarara City, who were on the verge of securing a slim victory, had taken the lead in the 59th minute through striker Latif Ssenkubuge.
Ssenkubuge tapped in from close range following Joseph Akandwanaho’s teasing cross to register his second of the campaign.
Both sides walked away with a point but will rue the wasted chances in the early stages of the second half.
Lugazi are 12th on the table with 13 points, the same number of points with Mbarara City who are 13th.
Lugazi will visit URA FC in their next game on Thursday 19th while Mbarara City will host Wakiso Giants on Saturday 21st.
