USSSA approves proposed 11.4 billion budget for year 2025

The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) has approved a projected budget of 11.4 billion for the upcoming year of 2025.
The approval was confirmed during the 42nd USSSA Annual General Meeting (AGM) which was convened at the GNS Plaza in Old Kampala.
The approved budget is an increment from the budget of 2024 which was projected at 11,042,214,600/=.
The increment comes with an anticipation of having an increase in the number of participants compared to previous years.
Justus Mugisha, the USSSA President revealed the sources of the projected income for the year 2025 with the government of Uganda being the chief funder.
The government will contribute 7.5 billion while the income will be obtained from the registration fees for participation, capacity building, membership, donation, sponsorship and penalties among others.
” The General Assembly has passed a proposed budget of 11 plus billions. Of this money, 7.5billion will come through the government. The other 4 billion will be raised by USSSA through its members who are the zones, through schools and registration.” Mugisha said.
Mugisha attributed USSSA’s success to the government and the good leadership at the association.
” We attribute success to the leadership of USSSA but also again we have been supported by the government of Uganda and we have a good team at the Ministry.” He added.
The Association revealed major activities for the forthcoming year and these include capacity building, Elite Games, Ball Games I and II, National Football Championship, ISF World School Games, FEASSA Games and others.
Uganda hosted and won the FEASSA Games which were held at Bukedea Comprehensive College and Amus College in Soroti in August this year.
The Elite Secondary School Games will kickoff the 2025 Calendar in February at St. Joseph of Nazareth Kavule in Mpigi district.
